Youth Services is a multifaceted
program created to help youth develop good character and the tools and
opportunities to succeed. The program is designed to consistently promote
community service and develop leadership skills.
The Greater Long Beach
Chapter believes youth are a vital resource necessary for the future of the
American Red Cross and to increase capacity for quality service delivery within
the community.
There are many opportunities for today's youth in the
American Red Cross. The American Red Cross gives youth the tools that will
prepare them for the challenges of work life through volunteer experiences. The
program promotes charitable giving and promotes a sense of community
responsibility. By interacting with and assisting those in need, youth
volunteers establish a sense of awareness and personal achievement. Volunteering
in community service gives youth the opportunity to help and teach others, make
new friends and learn more about themselves and their community.
