Health and Safety Services

Customer Sales & Service Manager

Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Health & Safety Services, perform a wide range of marketing, sales and customer service functions.  Promote Red Cross Health & Safety training classes and materials to meet revenue goals.  Support Authorized Provider classes.  Supervise instructors. 

 

Duties:

·        Supervise course instructors and instructor trainers to assure that quality and quantity goals are achieved, including management of course records and materials.

·        Identify volunteers who would be good instructors, promote class instruction as a beneficial volunteer activity, and increase the number of volunteer instructors by five (5) each year.

·        Support Authorized Providers (APs), to ensure that they are purchasing appropriate class materials from the chapter and following Red Cross training standards and procedures.

·        Increase AP classes by using creative marketing and instructor retention techniques.

·        Market training classes by overseeing creation of course catalogs in various formats for print and website.  Incorporate Emergency Services and Volunteer/Youth Services classes into catalogs.

·        Manage Preparedness/Health and Safety Services when the Director is absent.

·        Support other Health & Safety staff by serving as part of the team who promptly and courteously handles heavy customer telephone and walk-in traffic.  Provide information, solve problems, and handle complaints to result in clients enrolling in first aid, CPR, child care, and water safety classes, and purchasing preparedness materials. 

·        Market and sell merchandise to walk-in clients.

·        Assist in maintaining inventories of class and store materials for maximum efficiency and minimal cost.

·        Maintain documentation and student tests for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training, process paperwork from exams and forward to certifying chapter.

·        Assist in completing on-site registration for Regional Occupational Program (ROP) students.

 

Skills and qualifications:

 

Education and experience: B.A. or B.S. degree from accredited college or university, plus two years work experience.

 

REQUIRED: Bilingual: fluent in English and Spanish.

 

Excellent customer service and telephone skills:  ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, polite telephone manner, good in-person interactive skills, handle walk-in and phone callers in prompt, efficient & professional manner, willingness to spend time in the field working with AP instructors.

 

Sales/marketing skills:  previous sales or marketing experience is advantageous.

 

Teamwork: ability to work well as part of coordinated team, and back-up other department staff as necessary.

 

Good computer skills:  ability to quickly and accurately register people into classes by computer, create class schedules in various formats, and manage inventory records.  Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications -  Word, Excel, Outlook, and capability to learn Red Cross specific database and website

programs.  Ability to use basic graphic applications.

 

Organization and reliability:  well organized, accurate with details, and able to handle many different tasks daily.  Reliable attendance and promptness are essential.

 

Reports to:       Director of Health & Safety Services

Hours per week:        Exempt position based on 40 hours/week.  Some flexible hours required, including ability to work one/two evenings and one Saturday morning per month.

Salary:  $35,000 - $42,000
